ERASMUS + School Exchange Partnership Project

C5 ONLINE MEETING IN LITHUANIA
Creating Apps for school purposes

The last and final Teaching, Learning and training activity took place in Lithuania 23 rd – 27 th of November. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all activities took place online.

On the first day students from Lithuania presented the school. They created a short film about the school, its history, famous people. Take a look at our wonderful school here video

After watching the video, a quiz with 28 questions in Kahoot followed. After that, students had fun time having various icebreakers on Zoom. Students discussed about the pandemic situation in each country, how it changed the way of learning and their everyday life. Students played charades, drawing and guessing games. Students were asked to draw the most memorable person from the project and their drawings were joined in one poster. Project coordinators from Lithuania, Turkey and North Macedonia also had online meeting for discussing the agenda, basic principles for working online, tasks to be fulfilled.

On the second day students from Turkey and North Macedonia made presentations on their cultures, schools and regions. A quiz about all the countries was presented to the students and they did extremely well on it. Students from Lithuania also made a live presentation on the Mobile App created during the previous TLCs.

The third day was for brainstorming and sketching a new app. During the previous meeting in North Macedonia students chose the idea for the new app – a calendar with the most important dates for European countries. Firstly, students worked in groups with students from their own countries and then they met in Zoom to work in multicultural groups. Later students were asked to fill in the final questionnaire. The impact study will be conducted based on the results of the survey.

The next was also spent on sketching the app as working online makes the work less efficient and much slower. Students agreed to continue working on the app after the TLC, to have it finished till the end of the project. Finally, students and teachers met all together in Zoom to be awarded the certificates for their collaboration in the project.

On the final day of the meeting coordinators worked on Impact+ and Impact Study and students continued working in Zoom groups. However, working online, not face to face, makes the work more complicated and it takes much longer to fulfill the tasks. Thus, students under the guidance of their teachers decided to keep on working on the app “Being European” after the TLC and agreed to meet online in a month to show the progress.

In the final questionnaire, students and teachers shared their ideas about the project and its impact:

I am glad to have had the opportunity to participate in such a project with a beautiful purpose. I am happy and satisfied with the result. It was fun.

The project gave students a chance and space to grow and develop. Their individual contribution and willingness to participate has helped to develop so many competences. Starting from verbal and written communication, innovation and creativity, to improving digital literacy, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

It was the first Erasmus for me and such a fantastic experience. I met really great people, teachers, students and locals. I had an opportunity to visit Turkey twice, and not only get to know the school system but also the culture, the country and its history. I was not involved in developing the apps too much but being a part of such a project was really interesting. I would like to take part in Erasmus projects once again.

I had a lot of fun taking part in this project, it was definitely amazing to visit other countries and to form new friendships that I still try to keep to this day. Even though I already finished school I hope this kind of opportunity will again arise for future generations because it is really fascinating.

I think these projects are great u learn a lot, u get better at teamwork, communication, listening, u visit other countries, learn their culture etc. The project was fun, I had a great time and i will remember you all!

I'm very satisfied with the whole project. It gave me a chance to interact with dozens of warm, helpful, friendly people. It made me understand that I should appreciate what I have, because others don't have just a part of what I do.

I am very happy to join Erasmus I hope it goes very well.
